Social Impact
At Toekies we are mission-driven, ensuring impact always comes first.
Impact First
We use the proceeds from the socks to organize interactive activities that connect with the children's dreams. Think of shadowing them for a day in their dream job—from doctors to soccer player. All proceeds are reinvested in the children's future and in Toekies itself. Therefore, no profit is distributed to anyone other than the children, directly or indirectly!
Toekies Impact Program
Toekies makes an impact by organizing drawing afternoons at asylum seeker centers (AZC) and language schools. Due to all the trauma and uncertainties, the children have little or no space in their minds to dream about the future without limits. During these afternoons, the children think about their dreams for the future and translate them into fun drawings. This way, their dreams become tangible.
We then use the creative drawings to produce cheerful, unique socks. Each label features the story of the face behind the sock. By wearing the socks and advertising with the Toekies brand, we ensure that the children's stories are shared. We also use social media to raise awareness among our followers about refugees. Why not take a look at Instagram and see for yourself?
Impact Workshop
At the core of Toekies, is the impact workshops where refugee children draw about their dream. Our very own impact program is a series of workshops which give children the time and space to be bold and dream big, giving their dreams shape through art.
Vindiqu Virtual Session
Integrated into our own impact program, we organize virtual tours with our partners at Vindiqu. Here, the children can interact with their dreams, whether it be with a princess at a castle or at a football stadium.
Impact Fund
With every sale, 5% of the profit is secured to go into a special impact fund. The fund is fully reinvested back into the facilitation of workshops and activities to inspire the children to dream big.

In the last 3 years, the number of refugee families entering the Netherlands has more than doubled, with unaccompanied minors reaching almost 6000 people in 2023. The refugee crisis is not just a Dutch issue - it is a global issue.
Toekies aims to make impact on a local level, working with local partners and refugee children in Utrecht and the Netherlands, and become part of the global solution.
-
Toekies organizes drawing afternoons in the theme “Dare to Dream”, giving refugee children space to think about their dreams.
Selected drawings and dreams from the workshops are displayed on Toekies socks. Through sales and sharing the drawings, the story and dreams of refugee children is shared, increasing their visibility.
Part of the profit is reinvested through orientation opportunities, aimed to inspire and empower the children
-
Together with our impact partner, VindiQu, we organize virtual dream outings where refugee children that we work with get to virtually experience their dreams for a day.
