Hanna | Executive Director

Every child should be free to dream about their own future. If, like me, you were raised in the Netherlands, you might take that privilege for granted. Volunteering made me realize how important it is to stand up for what you believe in. That's why I'm so excited to be working with Toekies to give refugee children the opportunity to dream big about their own futures.

As the Executive Director, I focus on leading the team and the company's long-term strategy.

What was your childhood dream?: A Fashion Designer

Constanze | Impact & Partnerships Director

Seeing the joy and bright smiles on the children’s faces during our creative sessions motivates me most at Toekies. Because childhood experiences shape who we become, I find it incredibly important to show children how many possibilities their future holds. Every child in the Netherlands deserves the same opportunities to dream big and build a bright future.

As Impact & Partnerships Director, I coordinate all our impact activities and make sure everything runs smoothly with the support of our wonderful team of volunteers. Together with our partners, I develop new ideas and projects that bring our mission to life.

What was your childhood dream?: Astronaut

Karin | Branding & Marketing Director

Being warmly welcomed by the refugee community when I moved to Utrecht, it made me want to give back to the community - especially the children, being the most vulnerable. At the end of the day, I believe the refugee crisis is not political matter but a humanitarian one.

As Branding and Marketing Director, I am in charge of communications, social media, and the storytelling aspect of Toekies.

What was your childhood dream?: Restaurateur/chef/baker, police officer, and interior designer.

Matthijs | Sales & Operations Director

I joined Toekies because I believe in the power of small initiatives that can make a big difference. I liked the idea of giving children a voice through their drawings, and I wanted to contribute to that positive story. I also thought the socks were very beautiful and colorful.

What was your childhood dream?: An inventor

Naga | Business Strategy & Finance Director

I joined Toekies because I believe in building something that creates lasting impact. The mission to help refugee children dream freely resonated deeply with me — it’s a cause that combines purpose with strategy, and I wanted to be part of making it sustainable.

As Business Strategy & Finance Director, I focus on Toekies’ financial planning and long-term growth, ensuring we can continue expanding our impact for years to come.

What was your childhood dream?: A scientist and architect.
